Description
The WA6 is the smallest, most compact model in the Altendorf range of sliding table panel saws and ideal for customers looking for a cost effective machine with minimal impact on workshop space. Although small, the Altendorf WA6 is equipped with many features as standard for impressive cutting performance on solid wood, panels, composite materials and non-ferrous metals.
Table and fences
The aluminium sliding table is built around a multi-chamber structure for maximum rigidity, and glides on the proven Altendorf double roller carriage with steel bar guidance system. The machine can be configured with choice of sliding table lengths including 1600, 2000 and 2600mm to suit customers individual requirements.
As standard the WA6 includes a 1000mm rip fence capacity with smooth precise movement, and crosscut mitre fence with adjustment from 0 – 49° and two flip over stops extending up to 2600mm.
Saw unit
The main saw unit features a 315mm diameter blade powered by a 4kW (5.5 HP) motor running at 4200 rpm. Rise, fall and tilt adjustments are manually controlled from ergonomically poisoned hand wheels. The tilt angle can be accurately set using the built in scale. An independent scoring saw unit is also included running on a separate 0.37 kW (0.5 HP) motor.
Optional equipment
As the Altendorf WA6 is already supplied with many features as standard the range of optional equipment is limited to a selection of labour saving devices as follows;
Sliding table lengths – 1600mm (with useable cutting length of 1500mm), 2000mm (with useable cutting length of 1900mm) and 2600mm (with useable cutting length of 2500mm)
RAPIDO scoring system – this quick set scoring saw can be adjusted to match the main blade without the need to remove it from the machine. Compared to working with traditional shims the RAPDIO saves up to 10 mins taking about 3 minutes to set.
DUPLEX double-sided mitre fence – a separate high precision mitre fence that can be quickly mounted to the WA6 sliding table with angle adjustment from 0 to 90°. When set at 45° mitre cuts can be made on both sides of the work piece without having to adjust the fence. Length compensation allows for precise measurements to be made from the saw line to the flip over stops.
Overhead crown guard – replacing the standard riving knife mounted guard, this option provides a full sized, adjustable overhead crown guard with integrated dust extraction port, similar to that found on the Altendorf WA80 and F45 models.
