Wadkin offers a complete package of Training Products to suit your individual or company needs. Through the association with Daltons Wadkin everything from simple operator familiarisation training through to full City & Guilds certification can be supplied either on site or at our in house facilities.

Operator Woodmachine training is essential. The law requires that all workers must receive adequate training. It also makes good business sense to make sure all employees are working efficiently and safely.

Who should be trained?

Machine operators
Anyone who sets, cleans and maintains the machines
People who assist in the machining process (loading, feeding, taking off workpieces)

How long does it take?

The training needs of individuals will need to be assessed individually taking into account their age and experience. Contact us to discuss your needs and we would be happy to make a recommendation.

How often should training be given?

The Health and Safety Executive recommends that trained and experienced Woodmachine Operators receive refresher training at least every five years. New starters and novice users are likely to have the greatest training needs initially.

Who needs refresher training?

All Woodworking machine operators require refresher training. The frequency and depth of the refresher training will vary depending on the operator, what machines they use and how often.

What is covered in the course?

Each machine type is covered by a separate training unit specifically designed to cover the following areas;

Health and Safety regulations and general requirements
Correct selection, setting and use of guards
Correct selection, setting and use of machine
Correct selection, setting and use of tooling
Safe use of machines
Safe working practices
