Setting Stands

Providing the best level of accuracy without compromising performance

Providing the best level of accuracy without compromising performance

The benefits of setting stands in terms of their time saving capabilities and safety features makes them a must for any toolroom activity.

MMT 2095/1 Setting Stand
The MMT 2095/1 setting stand is used for planing and moulding cutterhead setting, and includes a 40mm arbor NXT 951. It comes complete with factory pre-set precision rollers to enable cutterheads to be set at 125mm cutting circles. It also includes a scribing plate for moulding cutters, and mould holder for wood samples, additional rollers for setting planer cutterheads above 125mm cutting circles and a graduated scale for accurate calibration of cutting diameters. The stand has a capacity of 300mm.

MSS300 Setting Stand
The MSS300 Setting Stand has the time saving advantage of accepting arbors directly from Wadkin profile grinders, allowing the operator to set a cutterhead with moulding blanks, transfer direct to the grinding machine and back again for checking, without loss of time and accuracy incurred in mounting on different arbors. The MSS uses a unique three way setting technique for use on thin planing blades or moulding knives whilst the simple rack and pinion adjustment combined with a dial gauge allows precise calibrated setting of cutting circles. It is supplied with one arbor.

SPDA 300A Jointer Stone Setting and Chipper Stand
The SPDA 300A Jointer Stone Setting and Chipper Stand is designed to accept arbors directly from the range of Wadkin Profile Grinders. This feature allows the operator to transfer the ground cutterhead including arbor direct into the stand. The cartridge holding the jointer stone is them marked with the profile shape, removed for rough shaping, replaced and finally chipped out using the profiled cutter in the head. A simple screw adjustment provides the very fine chipping cuts to take place and produce the perfect profile. The cutterhead and jointer cartridge are then ready for use as a matched set to be placed in the planer moulder. The stand has a 300mm capacity.

Opti-Cass Setting System
The Opti-Cass is a versatile and economic setting system, incorporating all the features required for positioning the cutterhead on the planer moulder with a minimum of delay. Simple and accurate to use, the Opti-Cass enhances efficiency by allowing the machine spindle references to be pre-set in the toolroom. A unique time-saving feature of this system is the facility to interchange the arbour directly between setting stand and the grinding machine without disturbing the cutterhead.

The range of setting systems forms part of a versatile range of toolroom and health and safety equipment brought to the market by UltraCare. The full range provides solutions suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, including joinery shops, sawmilling, moulding, furniture and plastics.
